I can’t believe it’s been so many months since I posted. Chalk it up to never getting around to installing internet at my new house, not wanting to access the blog at the office, not wanting to update the blog on my phone (which is what I had been doing and am doing now), and forgetting to update when I happen to take the laptop to a coffee shop.

Since my last post, life has been eventful. Some of these things are old news but I’m too lazy to read my last few posts from my phone and figure out what I’ve written about already.

– I got a new job.
– I bought a house.
– I dated an emotionally unavailable older man and broke up with him.
– Cutie moved away.
– My Original FWB and I have become great friends. Sometimes we stay the night together and cuddle in the nude. But we don’t have sex.
– I went to Las Vegas with some girlfriends and drank alcohol for the first time since Christmas 2011. I haven’t been so drunk since my 20s and I haven’t had much to drink since then.
– I fell during a run and fucked up my right hand.
– I dated another guy for a bit and he was too fucked up to continue with.
– I almost went out with a hot 25 year old but he drove me crazy with his immaturity.
– My new car was involved in a hit and run right before Christmas and then was vandalized on New Years Day.
– The Ex came back into my life.
– I’ve made new, awesome friends.
– I discovered a love for gardening.
– My father was found dead in his house on Valentines Day of complications from the flu. He disinherited me. We had been estranged for awhile. I’m still processing this one.
– I got my dog neutered.
– I’ve got SAD really bad this year and I can’t wait for Spring.
– I turned 38.
– At the age of 44 my sister got married to a man she met on the Internet a couple years ago.
– I decided that my life now, my happiness, is better than any relationship, so I’ve pretty much stopped dating.

More to come…

Long drive

Long drives make for lots of thinking.

Tonight on the way back from visiting a friend, I realized something. It’s both embarrassing and enlightening.

I value people — men, anyway — for the wrong reasons.

I value men who don’t value me.

I don’t value myself at all.

I deserve better.

If I want to have a healthy, happy relationship, I need to drop those men who use me, value the men who treat me well, not find value in men for stupid reasons (looks, money, charm), and value myself. A relationship is not a priority for me right now, but until I do these things I will never have one that works.

Just happen already!

OK, still waiting. At this point I’m beginning not to care. I told my BFF what I’d done and it was quite a load off and at least I have someone to talk to about it besides all of you who think I’ve gone quite bonkers at this point. Things should be catching up with me shortly. I just want it done and over with. I want to deal. Pay for it. Move on. Lesson learned. The end.

Sunshine award

I received an award from a fellow WordPress blog called Dance with Words. I will be honest when I tell you that I don’t know what her blog is about because I haven’t read it yet. She has been around for a month or so and has 194 followers, which has to say something, right? I did read one blog post and will say that they are lovely writers which makes me feel very honored to not only receive the award but to know they read my random, rambling, bitchy, and often really dirty thoughts over here.

The sunshine award is given to “bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere.” I don’t know how I do that, but it’s nice to know that my words are appreciated. .

The steps to take, preferably with joy

1. Include the award logo somewhere in your blog. 2. Answer these 10 questions, below, for fun if you want to. 3. Nominate 10 to 12 blogs you enjoy. Or you pick the number. 4. Pay the love forward: Provide your nominee’s link in your post and comment on their blog to let them know they’ve been included and invited to participate. 5. Pay the love back with gratitude and a link to the blogger(s) who nominated you.

The Questions

What’s your favorite color

Pink to look at and green to wear.

What’s your favorite animal

Dogs and horses. I don’t like cats.

Favorite non alcoholic drink

Coffee. I would drink it all day if I could. When I’m not drinking coffee, I’m drinking water (room temperature). Each night before bed I drink chamomile tea. I prefer it with honey but honey makes you fat so I currently don’t keep the sticky goodness in my house.

Facebook or TwittER

What’s your Passion

Running; my dogs; travel; bettering myself physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Whats your favorite pattern

Do you prefer giving or getting presents

Giving. Getting them is awkward.

Whats your favorite number

Whats your favorite day of the week

Saturdays because you can sleep in and go to bed late. You don’t have to work the next day. I wish every day was Saturday!

Whats your favorite flower

The Nominees

1. Sex and the Shitty. This blog both cracks me up and breaks my heart.

2. Transparent with Myself. This gal is down-to-earth and is a runner (like me) from PDX (like me). It’s been interesting to see her get to know herself and go through the learning process of life, love, relatioships, and so on.

3. Future Bombshell. Being a former fat girl I get her and what she’s going through. Her posts are raw and emotional and she is honest. I always want to try to help her. I don’t know why.

So, I don’t really read many more blogs on a really regular basis. I want to and I should. And I will. Promise!

Don’t you hate it when . . .

One of my new pet peeves is when you meet someone for the first time (internet date), they email or text you that they enjoyed your company and would like to see you again, you say no thank you, and they reply that they didn’t see a romantic connection either.

Basically, they are either trying to avoid embarrassment or else they were only interested in getting in your pants.

Still, it’s annoying.

Blogger award nom

About a week ago I received a comment from K. over at Sorry I Am Not Sorry about a versitile blog award nomination. I had no idea what that meant, so I thanked her in the comments section and never thought about it again. Then, today, I saw a comment from BB (Brooke Bardwell) at XOXO Luv BB about the same nomination. I’ve done my research and learned that this is a good thing, but comes with some rules (ugh! rules!).

The rules are as follows:

  1. If you are nominated, you’ve been awarded the Versatile Blogger award.
  2. Thank the person who gave you this award. That’s common courtesy.
  3. Include a link to their blog. That’s also common courtesy — if you can figure out how to do it.
  4. Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly. ( I would add, pick blogs or bloggers that are excellent!)
  5. Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award — you might include a link to this site.
  6. Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

There will be a part two and maybe a part three on this, when I catch up!

I finally figured out how to show all of the blogs I read and enjoy. I had the widget set to only show 20. Check them out! And, if you’re reading my blog and have a blog of your own, tell me about it in the comments section.
